The Hovercraft Museum
undefined, Lee-on-the-Solent
The world's largest collection of hovercraft, housed in historic hangars at the former HMS Daedalus site. The museum holds over 60 hovercraft including the massive SR.N4 cross-Channel craft, and tells the story of British hovercraft innovation from its invention by Sir Christopher Cockerell in 1955 to the present day. Open on selected days, staffed by dedicated volunteers, and well worth the visit for anyone with an interest in engineering, transport, or military history.
